Twork
Datenschutzerklärung · Privacy Policy
Stand: 19. Oktober 2026
Standort

Location
If you choose, Twork clocks you in and out automatically when you arrive at or leave a workplace you have created (geofencing). So that this also works while the app is closed, Twork asks for “Always” location access. Your location data is evaluated exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to us or to third parties. The feature is optional; Twork works fully without it.
Calendar (optional)
Only if you turn on calendar matching in the settings does Twork read the events of the calendars you choose, to show them to you as suggestions you can add. Access is read-only: Twork does not change any events, adds nothing automatically and transmits no calendar data to us or to third parties.
Notifications
Twork schedules reminders (for example “Timer has been running for 10 hours”) as local notifications on your device. There is no server for this and nothing is shared. Each reminder can be turned off in the settings.
Apple Watch and widgets
The Apple Watch app shows a short summary (running timer, daily and weekly times, quick start targets) and sends commands such as start or stop to your iPhone. The exchange happens directly between your devices via Apple’s WatchConnectivity. Widgets and the Live Activity read the same summary from a storage area on your device that only Twork and its widgets use.
Automatic tracking on Mac
On the Mac, and only if you turn it on and grant the required permissions, Twork can read the active app, the title of the active window and the address of the active browser tab to assign working time automatically. This is evaluated locally; the detected details are stored only as context of your entries on your own devices and are not transmitted to us.
Smart suggestions
For suggestions which job an entry belongs to, Twork uses simple rules and – if your device supports Apple Intelligence and it is enabled – the on-device language model. The evaluation takes place on your device.
Sync over the local network
Optionally, Twork syncs your working hours directly with your other devices on the same Wi-Fi network. The transfer happens directly between your devices – without any server of ours in between.
iCloud sync and backups
Your working hours and settings are synced between your devices via your personal iCloud account (Apple CloudKit). Only you and your devices can access this data. You save backups and exports wherever you like – for example locally or in your iCloud Drive.
App Store purchases
Twork Pro for iPhone and iPad – as a one-time purchase or a monthly subscription – is handled entirely by the App Store. We never receive personal data such as your name, address, or payment details. The 14-day trial is managed locally on your device. Apple’s privacy policy applies.
Mac licence
The Mac version of Twork is sold through Lemon Squeezy, which processes the purchase as the merchant; Lemon Squeezy’s privacy terms apply. When you enter a licence key on the Mac, Twork sends the key and your Mac’s device name to Lemon Squeezy to activate the licence; at launch the app validates the licence using the key and its activation ID. No other data is transmitted.
